Teri Cavanagh is a visionary who built one of the most innovative small business banking programs for women in the U.S., Teri in the last five years has created models in developing and developed countries for propelling women’s business growth through access to capital and resources. In her role as President of Teri Cavanagh Associates, she advises leaders across the public and private sectors on how to understand, assess, market to and profit from women’s businesses anywhere in the world.

Teri's distinguished clients have included the International Finance Agency (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group; Booz, Allen Hamilton, and the Global Banking Alliance for Women, where she was a founding member.

Her projects have ranged from in‐country assessment of economic opportunities for women’s businesses, to the creation of marketing and business development plans and women’s business training. For IFC’s Gender Entrepreneurs Markets group, she developed access to capital programs enabling leading financial institutions to reach women in developing countries.


Since 2007 she has been an Executive in Residence at the Center for Women Leadership at Babson College, a leading global educator in entrepreneurship.

Indicative of her life‐long passion for empowering women across the business, government and educational sectors, Teri was named a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy at UMass Boston in 2005. There she served as senior strategist for its Women’s Business Initiative.

She has served on the Board of Directors for Ms. Magazine, the Center for Women & Enterprise, and the Center for Women’s Business Research. She is a member of the Women’s Leadership Board at the J.F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Drawing upon her rich background as a senior executive, entrepreneur, educator, strategist, and speaker, Teri is an unparalleled global consultant in her field.

Involved in women’s economic issues globally, Teri has been an invited speaker at international conferences in Europe, the U.K., Africa, Australia, China, and most recently, Singapore. In 2000, she was the United States representative at an OECD Conference in Paris as a panelist on Access to Capital for U.S. Women Entrepreneurs.
