About Bettina ~
My yoga journey started in 1995; gazing out across the mountains of Stowe, Vermont I found my yoga practice. Yoga traveled with me to Boston and continued to the Cape in 2004. At that time, Power was the driving force of my yogic energy. Alex DeOnis, a Centerville Yoga teacher, became a mentor and inspired me to continue on the yoga path.
My life’s journey connected me with Lori Martin, founder of Core Health. Practicing with Lori, I learned the power of stillness and meditation, and the benefits of proper alignment. I moved on to study, and received my 200 hour teacher certification in June 2011, with Diane Kovanda at the Kind Yoga School in Centerville, Massachusetts.
Expanding my practice and becoming a yoga teacher has awakened me to my fullest potential.
I find every opportunity to be a student. I continue to learn and train, and have been fortunate to attend workshops and trainings with the following:
2007 & 2012 – Tias Little: Iyengar
2007 – Sarah Powers: Yin
2011- Shiva Rae: Vinyasa
2011 – 200 Teacher Training, Kind Yoga School, Centerville, MA
2012 – Yoga for Seniors Teacher Training with Kimberly Carson & Carol Krucoff at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health
2012 – Chair Yoga Teacher Certification with Lakshmi Voelker at Kripalu
I dedicate my teaching in honor of my mother and father who passed away in 2010 and 2011. It’s important that I share inspirational thoughts/readings and music as I teach, and would describe my Hatha classes as a meditation in motion.
Outside of yoga, I work part-time assisting seniors with transportation and household chores. I am an active member in my church, love long walks to nowhere, find every excuse to dress up in costume, enjoy spending time with friends, love the smell of crayola crayons, and adore my only nephew, Nicolas.
My daily goal is to absorb and appreciate what life has to offer me.
